Update: Gearbox Software announced that it had partnered with Risk of Rain developer Hopoo Games to publish Risk of Rain 2 during its PAX East show today.

The sequel to the excellent 2013 roguelike Risk of Rain surprise launched in Early Access on Steam this morning.
Risk of Rain 2 is still an action roguelike with online co-op for up to four players, but it’s now entirely in 3D. While the plan was always for Risk of Rain 2 to arrive in Q1 2019, no hard date was ever given – though developer Hopoo Games began teasing something yesterday.
