Family Guy Will 'Phase Out' Gay Jokes

According to executive producers Rich Appel and Alex Sulkin, Family Guy is "trying to phase out" gay jokes as the show will "shift and evolve in a lot of different ways."

Speaking to TVLine, Appel and Sulkin discussed the episode that had Peter becoming President Trump's latest press secretary.

The discussion was focused on how Family Guy, which first aired in 1999, has evolved over its 17 seasons.

During the episode, Peter told Trump that Family Guy has been "trying to phase out gay jokes," and Sulkin and Appel commented on that statement and if it was, in fact, true.
