With production slated to begin in early 2019, Warner Bros. is reportedly considering the following actresses to star alongside Margot Riobbie's Harley Quinn in their DC Comics movie Birds of Prey.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has screen-tested Gugu Mbatha-Raw (The Cloverfield Paradox, Black Mirror's "San Junipero" episode) and Jurnee Smollett-Bell (True Blood, Underground) for the role of the sonic-screaming vigilante Black Canary.
"Hidden Figures star Janelle Monae was also said to be in the running but it is unclear if she tested for the role," THR adds.
